About Mpumuza Traditional Authority
The KwaMpumuza Traditional Authority is the custodian of the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and governance of the Mpumuza community, located in the uMgungundlovu District of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Led by Inkosi K.S. Zondi, the Traditional Authority oversees the welfare, development, and preservation of the people of KwaMpumuza, which comprises 12 sub-villages (izigodi) spread across the region. The Authority plays a pivotal role in land management, cultural preservation, community development, and the promotion of socio-economic growth.
The Mpumuza Traditional Authority operates under the principles of Ubuntu, emphasizing communal responsibility, respect for tradition, and the well-being of all community members. It serves as a bridge between the past and the future, ensuring that the legacy of the Mpumuza monarchy is preserved while driving modern development initiatives that uplift the community. The Authority works closely with government entities, NGOs, and private stakeholders to implement programs that address housing, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, and security.
