MTHOBISI SHEZI

Mthobisi Protas Shezi, born on February 12, 1990, in Nkandla, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, is a highly skilled Civil Engineering professional with over a decade of experience. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Mangosuthu University of Technology, a B-Tech in Civil Engineering (Urban and Infrastructure) from Durban University of Technology, and a Municipal Finance Management qualification from Wits University. His expertise spans project management, geometric design, surveying, contract documentation, and municipal infrastructure development, with proficiency in the MIG-MIS system and stakeholder engagement.

Currently serving as the PMU Manager under Technical Services Development at Nkandla Local Municipality, Mthobisi oversees infrastructure projects that drive sustainable development. His leadership in project execution, community engagement, and technical innovation has positioned him as a key contributor to municipal growth and service delivery.

Thulani NGUBANE

Thulani Ngubane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology (B.Th.), an Honour’s Degree in Theology and Development (B.Th.-H, T&D), and a Master’s Degree in Theology and Development (MTh T&D), all from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Mr Ngubane is currently pursuing a PhD in Theology and Public Health, focusing mainly on the interface between public health innovations and the role of the Church in post-colonial South Africa. Mr Ngubane has over twenty years of experience in health innovation research and public engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities of the MTA Advisory Board

Advisory Board of the Mpumuza Traditional Authority plays a crucial role in supporting the Traditional Council and Inkosi K.S. Zondi in governance, community development, and cultural preservation. As trusted advisors, board members provide strategic guidance, oversight, and recommendations on matters that impact the well-being of the Mpumuza community.

Roles of the Advisory Board:
  • Advisory Support – Provide counsel to the Traditional Authority on governance, policy implementation, and decision-making processes that align with the community’s vision and mission.

  • Community Representation – Act as a bridge between the Traditional Authority and the people, ensuring that community concerns, aspirations, and needs are addressed.

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to drive development projects and secure resources for the community.

  • Cultural and Heritage Preservation – Support initiatives that protect and promote the traditions, customs, and identity of the Mpumuza tribe.

  • Conflict Resolution and Mediation – Assist in resolving disputes within the community through traditional and legal frameworks, fostering peace and unity.

  • Development Planning – Contribute to strategic planning efforts aimed at improving housing, education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure within the Mpumuza region.
